Full-Service Bookkeeper (Hybrid)
Strata Accounting Professional Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled full-service bookkeeper to join their growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records by performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial tasks to ensure the accuracy and compliance of the financial information.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping – Technical
- Record and maintain financial activities with extreme proficiency using bookkeeping software.
- Prepare government remittances, including HST, EHT, WSIB, and payroll remittances.
- Understand customer claims and filing requirements for GST/HST/PST.
- Understand and prepare payroll with various pay types across multiple companies.
- Prepare payroll year-end T4s/T4 Summary, correcting discrepancies as needed.
- Reconcile bank, credit-card, and loan accounts within the financial records.
- Prepare year-end working-paper documentation for various companies.
- Utilize financial technology for bookkeeping efficiency and research new software.
- Stay current with technology and remain proficient.
- Complete assigned work with minimal supervision.
Analysis and Reporting
- Produce month-end and year-end financial statements accurately; address issues and make corrections/adjustments when required.
Client Service
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
- Identify opportunities to assist clients with their financial requirements and inform the Partner.
- Meet all client deadlines with accuracy.
Qualifications
- Education: CPB designation preferred or equivalent related work experience.
- Experience: 2+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping in a multi-client environment.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights; strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills; able to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong client-service orientation; able to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members.
- Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity with clients, colleagues, and partners.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Dext, practice-management software, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office; ability to research and master new financial-technology tools.
- Agility: Prioritize tasks effectively in a multi-client, deadline-driven environment.
- Engagement: Actively participate in team-building initiatives across Strata’s divisions.
